2009 Preliminary Karaoke & Talent Contest Rules:
1. There will be a limit of 50 contestants for the preliminary contest. All contestants must be at least 10 years of age.
2. The first 25 sign-up sheets of each Karaoke contestant & Talent contestant handed in will be used.
3. You must provide correct name, address & phone number (otherwise we will not be responsible for contacting you for the finals).
4. All contestants must choose two songs or performances (we will not allow any songs to be changed, so please be sure you have written the correct numbers down).
5. If you use your own C.D.G.-Please write your name on it and place it into your sign up sheet. All C.D.G.'s will be returned after the contest is finished.
6. All contestants sign-up sheets will be drawn prior to the start of each contest. Please listen to what number you will be placed at and be prepared to sing/perform your talent at that time.
7. No contestants will be allowed to change the order they are assigned to. (Asking to be placed differently is time consuming and unfair to the other contestants.)
8. You may choose any type of song/act you would like to preform. " DUETS ARE ALLOWED " (Judges will be advised on what is considered a one dimensional performance.)
9. If you do not place in the TOP15 of each Contest, you are welcome to try again next year.
10. The judges are on a volunteer basis - please be courteous to them. Judging is very difficult and often under appreciated.
11. No matter how many contestants are at the preliminary, the winners will be announced at midnight.
12. No contestants will be allowed to practice before the contest or during the intermissions.
13. The top 15 Karaoke Singers and top 15 Talent Show performers will advance to the finals on August 7,2009.

This years competition is bigger and better than ever. We have made some exciting changes and are pleased that you will be participating. The competition gets underway on Friday, August 7th on the hill of the Bark River International Raceway located in Bark River. All contestants are required to sign in between 6:00pm and 6:45pm with the competition getting under way at 7:00pm. It is very important that we stay on schedule so that we can wrap it up by midnight. If you are not signed up by 6:45pm, you will not be able to compete. ALL TIMES ARE EASTERN STANDARD TIMES!!! EST.
The 1st place KARAOKE winner will receive $500.00 cash and an opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the opening of the races on Saturday, August 8th. The 2nd place KARAOKE winner will receive $300.00 cash. The 3rd place KARAOKE winner will receive $200.00 cash. In addition, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place KARAOKE winners will each receive two weekend passes to the Bark River Off Road races, a $50.00 value. The top 15 TALENT Show contestants will each receive Trophies.
Find above the judging sheet and complete rules for your review. Please look them over closely. Please encourage your family and friends to come out to the Bark River International Raceway race track to support you. Audience interaction is part of the judging. Bring your lawn chairs, but "NO CARRY INS PLEASE". There is a $5 admission charge. We encourage you to check out all the racing action on Saturday and Sunday for a great weekend of Off Road Racing brought to you by the Bark River Lions Club.
